shipped planned from another pack
The Media pack makes pictures, motion, and music that stay editable. icon.place draws icons, SlopCamera builds images, animation, and video, and Soundfish writes loops and songs. Each keeps the work as a source an agent can revise, whether a drawing program, a scene file, or a URL. SlopCamera and Soundfish use ALGAL where choice or chance enters the work, and icon.place’s drawing lab does too. The work stays editable after the first render.
Products
icon.place
An editable vector icon and illustration studio with a research lab. It has 9,518 concept pages and 8,965 drawn icons, adapted from Lucide, Tabler, Phosphor, Material Symbols, Font Awesome Free, Bootstrap Icons, and others, credited on each page. The lab’s construction system covers 14 visual languages. Models return data; trusted code builds the geometry and the SVG. In one selector study, Jev, TypeSafe’s hosted decision model, scored 37 of 40, a Qwen 1.7B model running in the browser 15, and a local grammar 22.
SlopCamera
A media studio for coding agents that builds images, 3D scenes, animation, and video from source files the agent can revise. It is public and MIT licensed, with a CLI and local host, a hosted API, and an MCP adapter, and its own icon tools already generate and vectorize icons.
Soundfish
Album pages with a waveform player, plus a CLI for MIDI loops and songs. A whole loop or song can be encoded inside a playable sound.fish link, so sharing the link shares the song. The CLI imports and exports MIDI, builds songs from parts, and edits with commands such as transpose, humanize, and fill, and every command can answer in JSON.
Built on
ALGAL is a programming language and virtual machine for agent programs that replay from a record of each step. It is covered in Tools for Token Maximalists.
How they connect
icon.place → ALGAL: records
In the drawing lab, each experiment runs as an ALGAL program in the browser, with Qwen3 models running in the browser on WebGPU to propose data. ALGAL records the compiled proposal, candidate generation and selection in one graph, and replay recompiles the drawing and checks the result. This is lab work so far; the live icon.place app does not use ALGAL yet.
SlopCamera → ALGAL: animates
Character behavior, such as a walking state machine, blinks and gaze, and prop handling, is baked on ALGAL with no tools attached and a seeded random stream. Each bake must record zero effects and zero model calls, so the same scene and seed always give the same timeline. The slopcamera scene behavior commands check, bake and audit it, and a gallery bakes six seeds and keeps only the results that differ.
Soundfish → ALGAL: evolves
soundfish evolve turns a loop into an evolving recipe with its own address, run by an ALGAL evaluator bundled into the CLI, pinned by SHA-256 and runnable offline. evolve render writes a chosen range of cycles to MIDI.
SlopCamera → icon.place: bundles (planned)
The aim is for SlopCamera to draw icons with icon.place once icon.place ships as a package. Nothing in SlopCamera references icon.place today.
SlopCamera → Soundfish: scores (planned)
SlopCamera’s music-video recipe takes a local track and a tempo you supply, and does not yet detect tempo, downbeats, or length. Soundfish exports MIDI, which could supply the beat grid and section cues.
