The choice I can make about AI now

I don't have a legislature. I have a factory.

I read Gates this week. He wants reserved human jobs and a tax on tokens and robots. The line everyone will quote is from "The choices we make about AI now are critical". I clipped a digest. I'm not going to pretend I can stand that up from here.

I don't have a legislature. I have a factory.

I already spent a month running 15 Codex subscriptions and writing down how that factory works. The expensive part is not the model. The expensive part is losing the loop: the sessions, the memory, the UI state. If I don't own that, I'm just renting a chat window.

So I keep Hra, the KB, and Direct. Isolated Codex sessions I can recover. Markdown and git the agents write into. App states a browser agent can find again. Swap the model. Keep the loop.

Gates can tax tokens later. They're already the unit of work. I don't wait.

If you want the word for that loop, I wrote what an agent harness is. AI Charts still writes the harness on each row because the model is not the whole system.

That's the choice I can make about AI now.
